Passport to Manhood

The program at the Boys & Girls Club is called the Passport to Manhood. We mentor a group of 15 boys ages 10-12.At least three of the bruhs from BLL '06 are present each week.This allowes everyone to teach a class. In the class we talk about everyday situations that young boys face on their road to Manhood. Some of the previous topics we discussed were important role models, drug awareness, diversity, racism, physical fitness,mental awareness, famous leaders, personal responsibility, society, different social groups, codes of conduct, peer pressure, code of ethics, decision making, and improtance of education. The class is one day a week for 1 hour. We sit and talk with the boys about the above mentioned topics. We discuss how the the subjects will effect their lives. We allow them to express their opinions on how they feel and under what circumstances they have encountered peer preesure, racism, etc.
